Climatic Conditions - Maharashtra
The state of Maharashtra enjoys a typical tropical kind of climate. The state climate also gets affected by the seasonal weather that is why sometimes heavy rains, floods, frost, hail etc. hits the region.
Summer: The hot summer season starts from March and faces heavy rain during early June. Temperature varies between 22°C-39°C during this season.
Rainfall: During March and April thunderstorms appear all over the state. In this rainy season some places faces the problem of flood. The first week of June is the initial period of south west monsoon. In July the state faces heavy rain and as a result of which flood situation occurs. The Sahyadri region follows maximum rain of approximately 400 cm. But the east of the Sahydris i.e. the western plateau districts (Solapur-Ahmednagar) face comparatively less rain fall to a meager of 70 cm and come under the dry zone of the state. The average rain fall of the state affects the agriculture and hence the economy.
Winter: By late September the monsoon wind weakens and winter comes steadily by early October. This winter season continues till February and is characterized by clear skies and pleasant weather.
